Ancient Words For Today - John 8:12
Moving about in a dark room is dangerous because the obstacles and hazards that threaten our safety cannot be seen. But when the light switch is turned on, those dangers are clearly illuminated and we can walk safely.
Living in this sin-stained, spiritually darkened world dims and obscures our spiritual vision. We fail to see the dangers or recognize the critical and hopeless predicament we are in. Sin and our own fallen natures blind us to the truth and hold us captive in the darkness.
The Word of God is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path, leading us to Himself. Jesus Himself is the Light of the World. When His light and truth enlighten our life, our spiritual eyes are opened. May the Light of Christ shine brightly upon us, enable us to see clearly, and bring us safely home to His Kingdom Of Light.
