Ancient Words For Today - Isaiah 41:10

There is an old saying: “Fear knocked at the door, faith answered - and no one was there!”
Faith and fear are at opposite ends of the spectrum. If we remember that the Lord is always with us and loves us more than anyone, and has promised to be our help in time of need - then there is no reason for us to fear.

John, one of the beloved disciples closest to Jesus, was with Him continually during His ministry on earth. He listened intently as Jesus explained the depth of God’s love for His creation, and experienced the amazing love of Jesus first hand. John proclaimed: There is no fear in love; but perfect love castes out fear: because fear hath torment. He that fears is not made perfect in love. 1 John 4:18.

John was an eye witness, at the foot of the cross, as Jesus sacrificed His life so that we could be pardoned for our sins and live with Him forever. John wrote one of the greatest and most frequently quoted verses in the Bible, recorded in John 3:16, that explains the extent of God’s love for us: For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

When you know, experience and trust in God’s love, concern and care for you, then your fears will be extinguished and: “the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:7
