Ancient Words For Today - John 15:12

I am so glad the love God has for us is steadfast, not subject to change based upon our performance. Nor is it fickle as is so often the case
with people in love and falling out of love in this world. God’s love isn’t based on our good looks or qualities, our IQ, good works, popularity,
wealth, position, or any other human factor. Rather God chose to love us unconditionally because God’s nature is love and to be loving.
This is the kind of love Jesus said His followers should have for one another.

The sin of Adam and Eve when they disobeyed God, and our own sins as well, separated all of mankind from God. As a result,
the loving relationship God desired to have with us was broken. But, “God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son,
so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world,
but to save the world through him.” John 3:16-17
Through Jesus, God made the way available for us to be forgiven and restored to
fellowship with Himself and receive God’s gift of eternal life. Jesus loved us so much that He willingly died on the Cross taking the penalty
for our sins, and accounting to us His righteousness when we put our faith and trust in Him. How great is His love for us? -

Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13
But God commended his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8
This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.
Dear friends, since God loved us that much, we surely ought to love each other. 1 John 4:10-11
