When I was a boy my mother taught me the 23rd Psalm. Growing up in farming country made it easy for me to imagine the Lord Jesus tending His flock of sheep, feeding and protecting them from harm. It wasn't until much later in my life that I learned I was one of His sheep, and that He had been tending and protecting me all of my life, even though I didn't know Him personally or understand what He had done for me.
When it was explained to me that Jesus gave His life on a cross nearly 2,000 years ago to save me, and that He rose again from the grave and offered eternal life to those who believe in Him, I thankfully asked Him to forgive me for straying from Him all the years of my life. I asked Jesus to be the Shepherd of my life and He has been lovingly guiding, providing for, and protecting me ever since.
Have you asked Jesus to be the Lord and Shepherd of your life? If not, why not do so right now?
The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever. Psalm 23:1-6.
God bless you and prosper you, according to His perfect will, as you walk in His light and His love!
