And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day. Genesis 1:31
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth – and the plants, fish, birds and animals that filled it. And last of all He created man, in His own likeness. Everything God created was perfect and His creation was in total harmony. But a terrible calamity marred the beautiful creation God had made, and all flesh on the earth became corrupted as a result. The sin of Adam and Eve, when they disobeyed God’s commandment, brought the curse of death upon them and their descendants, and all living creatures on earth, and made it impossible for man to please God or have a meaningful relationship with Him because their sins separated them from God.
But God has a plan to restore all things. It starts with God’s plan for the redemption of mankind and restoration of their fellowship with God. God has offered this salvation as a free gift available to every person, but it only becomes effective for those individuals who believe God and receive His gift of forgiveness and eternal life. Many have done so, but many more have for various reasons rejected God’s gift. One day God will restore the heavens and earth and all things in them to their original beauty. And those people who have received God’s free gift, and been made a new creation of God through faith in Christ, will enjoy peace with God and fellowship with Him in a wonderful new world without sin and without end!
