Ancient Words For Today - Psalm 124:8
It is comforting to know that help is available to us from the all-powerful, all-knowing and loving LORD God. He created the heaven and earth and knows us and our deepest needs. When we call upon the Name of the Lord, He hears our prayer and certainly can satisfy our needs. Our primary and most important need is to be reconciled to God, which He has done through the Messiah He promised, the savior of the world. When we put our faith and trust in Jesus, He becomes our deliverer and our help and our shepherd. He never will leave of forsake us. He will be with us through the storms and fiery trials impacting our lives and will guide us along the path that is good, and ultimately receive us into His heavenly kingdom.
Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world. He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
