Ancient Words For Today - Psalm 25:4

The Way of the Lord does not come naturally to us. In fact, we all are born with a rebellious nature that is spiritually separated
from God and that seeks its own way, not the Lord’s way. We inherited that fallen, rebellious, self-serving nature from our ancient
relatives-in-common, Adam and Eve. When they sinned by disobeying God’s commandment, the perfect, harmonious and wonderful
relationship they had enjoyed with God from the beginning of their creation was severed and everything drastically deteriorated.
They instantly became guilt-ridden and fearful of God. They even fled and tried to hide from God, who loved them so much. Because of
their willful sin, the curse of God came upon them resulting in many hardships in life, pain and suffering, and ultimately physical death
for them and all their descendants. The entire creation, the earth and all flesh upon it, also became corrupted as a result of their sin.
We see today a tainted world, showing only a faint glimmer of the beauty and splendor of God’s original creation. The harmony and
loving relationship that man had once enjoyed with God remains broken by sin.

But the story does not end there. God hates sin and the destruction it causes, but He loves us still. We have hope because God is the
God of love, mercy, grace and hope. God has revealed His plan to redeem mankind from the curse of death and separation from God.
He promised Adam and Eve that He was going to send a savior into the world who would save the people from the penalty of their sins
and restore their harmony and fellowship with God. Those who in faith believed God’s promise and trusted in the future Savior He would
send, were promised God’s forgiveness of their sins, restoration of their relationship and fellowship with Him, and eternal life in His presence.
We each have the same opportunity available to us today. We can look to Jesus, God’s promised Savior who came 2000 years ago.
When we put our faith and trust in Jesus, our relationship with God is restored. Amen!

And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth. Genesis 6:12

The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way. Psalm 25:9
What man is he that fears the LORD? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose. Psalm 25:12
Jesus said unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6
