Ancient Words For Today - Matthew 5:6

Our bodies send a message to our brains when we need food or drink. When we feel hunger pains - we eat, and when we are thirsty -
we drink, to quench those desires. In a like manner, for those who are born into God’s family through faith in Christ, our renewed spirits
signal us to seek after righteousness – desiring to live our life according to God’s precepts to please Him and bring glory to Him through our life.

Jesus said that when the desire of our heart is to pursue righteousness, that we would be filled and blessed! When we believe in Jesus
and receive Him as our Lord and Savior, the righteousness of Christ is accounted to us by God.

In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.
He that believes on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. John 7:37-38

And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believes on me shall never thirst. John 6:35

Being conscious that a man does not get righteousness by the works of the law, but through faith in Jesus Christ,
we had faith in Christ Jesus, so that we might get righteousness by faith in Christ, and not by the works of the law:
because by the works of the law will no flesh get righteousness. Galatians 2:16
